The Rev. Steven Falci was ordained to the sacred order of Priest by The Rt. Rev. A. Robert Hirschfeld on Sat. Dec. 13, 2025

We are now on Pilgrimage
at Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church (HTLC),
22 Fox Run Road, Newington, NH

The reason for this mailing address change is twofold. First, once construction begins on the Christ Church campus the end of this year, we will not have access to our locked mailbox, so we want our new mailing address already established by then. Also, the Portsmouth Post Office has a narrow range of hours for access to PO boxes, but Greenland access to PO boxes is 24/7/36 so it all makes sense.
OUR CHURCH HAS NOT AND IS NOT MOVED TO GREENLAND!

We are looking forward to our property development which will provide us a new worship space, 44 Workforce housing units, offices for HAVEN, our local domestic violence prevention and support services agency, and a childcare center.

Christ Church Transition Journal

Dear Christ Church Members and friends. As suggested by Bishop Rob when he was with us on Tues. May 6, we created a Transition Journal, a place for you to express your Hope,Dreams, Concerns, Fears, Reactions and other feeling you are having during our Pilgrimage to our new worship space and new community of apartments, HAVEN, and daycare, and our ongoing care for our Memorial Garden and the Slave Cemetery.
Please date your entry. You may add your name if you wish, but it is not required. The link is printed below.

Images from our final service in our previous building

Our final worship was held on November 12 with Bishop Rob presiding. It was an evening filled with remembrance, thanksgiving and hope for our future. The love and support we received that evening was incredibly heart-warming. Thanks so much to all who were able to join and support us – past members of Christ Church, lay and clergy representatives from every church in the Seacoast Convocation, Diocesan staff, our fellow pilgrims at Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church and our partners in building our new community at 1035 Lafayette Road, Haven and the Portsmouth Housing Authority.

If you are seeking a spiritual home or exploring a call to social justice within a progressive, Christian faith – with a particular focus on speaking up against all forms of inequality – we hope you will walk with us on that journey of discovery.
We look forward to meeting you!!

A Pilgrimage

We are now off of our chruch site on Lafayette Rd. for about 12-18 months during the construction to develop our property into our new worship space, new workforce housing, the offices of HAVEN, and a new daycare facility.

During our Pilgrimage away from our property we will make Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Newington our home for worship. Details of worship are above.

During our Pilgrimage we will use this time to enhance our spiritual life and to begin visioning what our new ministries within our new worship space and our new community will look like.

We strive to live the call of Christ, immersed in justice, compassion, and reconciliation in all that we are and do.

Who We Are

We are a spiritually centered, diverse and inclusive community of seekers growing together in worship, social justice mission, study and fellowship. We have been newly designated a “Gospel Oriented Community” in the Episcopal Diocese of New Hampshire, part of The Episcopal Church, a member of the worldwide Anglican Communion.

The historic Langdon Slave Burial Ground on the church property adjacent to the rectory is preserved as part of the Black Heritage Trail NH.

Where We Are; Where We’re Going

We live in a liminal space of expectation. Our 4-acre site on Route 1 is in the early stages of being redeveloped into a campus comprised of four partners: Christ Church, which has a history that stretches back to the mid-19th century; Haven, New Hampshire’s largest agency serving victims of domestic and sexual violence; a day care center; and workforce housing administered by the Portsmouth Housing Authority. We are located between Route 1 and the Urban Forestry Center, near the Sagamore Creek, with all its natural beauty and walking trails. An 18th century slave burial ground, an historical site, is located on our grounds.

Celebrate with us in, with, and through Christ, as we celebrate the lives of women in biblical literature, as we strive for the full equality of all women in our time, as we work for justice, compassion, and reconciliation for all of life.
